Addepar is a wealth management platform that specializes in data aggregation, analytics, and performance reporting. Addepar serves clients in more than 14 markets worldwide, and works with more than 200 third-party data, technology, and solution providers. CōLab was asked to partner with the Addepar team to create a one-stop-shop where its clients can explore and learn about integrations, and services on their own.
The challenge: It was difficult for Addepar's clients to find out who the third party providers are, scope their offerings, and to demonstrate their capabilities on their own. Addepar’s clients still heavily rely on calling the Addepar’s sales and the account managers, which causes high cost of the labor and inconsistent information.
PAIN POINT
Client doesn't know about Addepar's partnering providers.
Our discovery: To tackle this complex organizational problem, we kept the team lean and nimble. We dug into Addepar’s processes and sales team, partnering closely with senior managers. We developed a deep understanding of their target audience, third party providers’ information, product demos, and case studies. We spoke with Addepar’s stakeholders to understand their pain points. This exercise helped us shape what the deliverable should be—a centralized web product where Addepar prospects and clients could find everything they needed.
The process: Next, we mapped out a user journey, including pain points and opportunities. As we started ideating, we ran our ideas by prospective users. These UX research insights helped us refine our designs in real-time.
“We developed a great partnership with CōLab. It truly felt as if they were a part of the team. They complimented our design process with a fresh perspective and new ideas that are evident in all aspects of the site. We appreciate their creative approach and willingness to treat our project as their own.”
Steven Lamb, Senior Product Manager at Addepar
The collaboration with the Addepar team was seamless, we acted as their extended team with trust and support. The final version of the Integration web product is in the development phase and is expected to launch early 2022. The end goal is to reduce inquiries from customers and increase product integration demo requests.
